CLOUT

Club Leverage Over Unit-Time: punching above their weight.

Raw totals favor clubs that sent many players. CLOUT asks which club delivered the most relative to its time on the pitch at Women's World Cup 2023.

What the number means

CLOUT is a multiplier. 1.00× is the field average for the minutes a club's players logged. A score above 1.00× means the club overperformed that fair share.

How it is calculated

We divide each club's output by its player-minutes, compare that rate with the tournament-wide rate, and shrink tiny samples toward the average. The adjustment prevents one brief appearance from overwhelming the ranking.

CLOUT = adjusted rate ÷ field-average rate
adjusted rate = (events + k × average rate) ÷ (90-minute blocks + k)

A fan lens, not an official award

CLOUT is an original My Club's World statistic. FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 is complete, so these rankings are frozen unless a documented data correction is approved.
